Wine Recommendations - 6 wines to fire up the BBQ season

The days are longer, the sun is warmer, and May (with its bank holidays) has arrived. That can only mean one thing - BBQs! So, it's time to clean up the grill, locate the firelighters, and cremate a sausage or two on the Weber (other brands are also available).

Anton Bauer Gmïrk 2018- A fantastic single vineyard Grüner Veltliner, full of fresh tropical fruit, with a long crisp finish. Perfect with the season’s asparagus, or some grilled halloumi. Read more
Dorrance Blanc 2019- Gloriously textured Chenin Blanc from a Frenchman in South Africa. Throw some shrimps on the braai and this will work a treat! Read more
Domaine du Peras Rose 2018- The sun has begun to shine so it must be rose o’clock! This is a great example of a pale ‘pink', from the south of France, with lovely dry strawberry fruit. Read more

Alves de Sousa Caldas 2016- Medium bodied with dark fruit, and a little spice, make this an ideal companion to lamb chops cooked with rosemary and garlic. Read more
David Traeger's Three Centuries Shiraz 2011-Plum and mulberry fruit, that Heathcote eucalyptus, and a little oak. Not overly alcoholic and an excellent partner of red meat. Read more
