Adelphi Breath of the Isles 2007, Scotland 70cl
14 Year Old Single Malt Whisky, 70cl. No. of bottles: 1020. Scotland, United Kingdom. 58.3% ABV.
A vatting of refill Oloroso Hogsheads, this is copper gold in colour and displays a moderate bead. A bright, alluring nose redolent of apple pie, fresh ginger, heather honey and beach debris. The well-balanced palate is chock full of crunchy nut cornflakes, pumpernickel bread, salted popcorn, mocha and a tangle of seaweed. A long, beautifully harmonious finish completes this dram in style. Wonderful stuff.
A mystery single malt from Adelphi, released as part of its Breath of the Isles series. The whisky comes from one of the distilleries on Scotland's many isles, though no hints are given as to which island or which distillery was responsible. What we do know, however, is that it was distilled in 2007 and matured for 14 years until it was bottled in 2021 with an outturn of 1020 bottles.
