Adelphi Mortlach 17 Year Old 2003, Scotland, United Kingdom 70cl
17 Year Old Speyside Single Malt Whisky, 70cl. No. of bottles: 224 from Scotland, United Kingdom. 57.6% ABV.
Drawn from a first-fill American Oak ex-Bourbon Barrel, this is the colour of summer gold with a moderate bead. On the nose we found Campino sweets, floral notes, apple skin, candied lemon peel and eau de vie. This is backed up on the palate by robust texture, bitter almonds, cream soda, biscotti and vibrant grapefruit peel. Finishing with a slight saltiness, an atypical Mortlach which surprises and delights.
Producer Profile Adelphi
Scotland's most acclaimed bottler of rare single cask and limited edition single malt whisky, fusion whisky and spirits.
"We exist to identify the very small number of casks that have produced the ultimate whiskies and spirits. The criteria for selection include rarity and maturity, but above all flavour."
"Adelphi is like the Linn of hi-fi, the Aston Martin of motoring, the Gleneagles of hotels - basically, if you see anything with that name on a bottle, you know you're in for a serious treat." Andy Clark, The Herald, Scotland
