Dry red wine, 75cl. Full bodied 100% Malbec from Chanar Punco, Catamarca, Argentina. 14.5% ABV.
Vibrant and powerful in its highly character full intensity and purity of expression. Brooding blackberry and blueberry fruit, caramelized cherry, warmed raspberry and dried cranberries intermingle with a charismatic inky, meaty blackness. Fragrant violets and roses charmingly contrast dried spices, liquorice, herbs and a seductive undercurrent of earthy, smoky, mineral graphite. Brightness of acidity and finely structured tannins are nicely balanced by velvety texture and chalky power.
Tasting notes from Luis Gutiérrez, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The powerful 2013 La Linterna Malbec Finca Los Chañares – Parcela #73 Chañar Punco shows ready, even if it has some remaining tannins. This comes from the El Esteco vineyard in the province of Catamarca in the Valles Clachaquíes, where the conditions are very different from Mendoza. The wines are always marked by the wild place, high altitude and poor soils. It has a chalky texture and a long, dry finish. It's more about the place than the grape."93/100 Points

Bemberg Estate is a brand-new project, created by the Bemberg family, with the intention of producing the finest wines in Argentina. Daniel Pi, the winemaker, has crafted a wine collection that represents an imaginary journey from north to south traversing different regions and using the finest sites. Single vineyards, harvesting by hand, spontaneous fermentation, French oak barrels and very limited production. These really are spectacular wines showing the variety of terroir and conditions available in Argentina.
Finca Los Chañares is located 1,950 above sea level in the southern area of the Calchaquíes valleys, in the town of Santa Maria.
