Producer Profile Maison Gérard Boyer

The Boyers were winegrowers for 5 generations and Gérard Boyer took over the reins in the 1980s; he was a professor of mathematics but also an oenologist who graduated in the Faculté de Dijon. The estate owns only 7 hectares in the villages of Meursault, Auxey-Duresses, Chorely-les-Beaune, Savigny-les-Beaune and Gevrey-Chambertin but in order to expand the winery also buys from small winegrowers in whom the Boyers have full confidence. Gérard Boyer modernised the winery, developed a network of clients  and acquired new vineyards in the 2000s. In 2015, he handed over the business to his son, Jean who continues the work with the sole objective of producing high quality wines.
