The Christmas Claret Case - 6bt
A case of fabulous Bordeaux reds show casing three iconic appellations; Margaux, Pessac-Leognan and Saint-Emilion. These are outstanding wines, offer great value and can be enjoyed greatly now.
• Chateau Paveil de Luz 2016, Margaux, Bordeaux, France
Château Paveil de Luze is one of the oldest properties in the Médoc. On the road to the Grands Crus, in the heart of the Margaux appellation, in the small town of Soussans, the property has belonged to the Luze family since 1862. The wine wafts from the glass with notions of crème de cassis, loamy soil, cigar wrapper, pencil shavings, dark chocolate and rose petals, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with fine depth at the core.
• Chateau Trianon 2015, St Emilion Grand Cru, Bordeaux, France
A full bodied and powerful red with an aromatic nose that offers ripe blackberries, blueberries, plum backed by liquorice and chocolate notes. The rich, flavourful palate is well structured with round and ripe tannins, freshness and a long finish. A splendid bottle of St Emilion Grand Cru. This is an estate to watch out for that is now under the leadership of Dominique Hébrard, former co-owner of Château Cheval Blanc.
• L'Esprit de Chevalier 2018, Pessac-Leognan, Bordeaux, France
The 2018 L'Esprit de Chevalier is a gorgeous second wine from renowned Domaine de Chevalier. Soft, pliant and so expressive, the 2018 is simply impeccable. The purity of the flavors is striking. Cedar, sweet pipe tobacco, mint and dried herbs add striking perfume to a core of supple red berry fruit.
