Dry white wine, 75cl. Full bodied 100% Sauvignon Blanc from Loire, France. 14.0% ABV.
From a 5 hectare parcel on silex soil, Les Belles Dames is an exceptionally elegant and harmonious Sauvignon Blanc with wonderful purity of fruit and a distinctive steely minerality. The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels (not new!) for 9-10 months and possesses mouth-wateringly ripe and flinty, zesty fruit flavours along with racy acidity and breathtaking delineation. A splendid Sancerre!
Producer Profile Gitton Père et Fils
Starting with a small plot of a less than an hectare in 1945, Marcel & Huguette Gitton discovered and pioneered single-site, terroir-focused Sancerres. The exclusively estate grown & bottled wines have been sold in over 30 countries for more than 40 years. Marcel Gitton, the grandfather, was passionate about vineyards and separating each cuvée according to different soils, graftings and exposition. Pascal, the son, his Australian wife Denise, and the daughter Chanel, carry on the tradition today. The domain now extends to 33 ha on 3 AOCs.
