33 Year Old Speyside Single Malt Whisky, 70cl. No. of bottles: 217, cask number: 6663 from Scotland, United Kingdom. 48.0% ABV.
In honor of their 30th birthday, the fine folks of Adelphi have bottled some seriously spectacular casks, including this stunning example. A single cask Mortlach that was drawn from a refill bourbon hogshead after over three decades of maturation. Mortlach has it's devotees for good reason, and they will no doubt be thrilled with this bottling, as it's a bit more fruit forward than the typical meaty Mortlach.
Adelphi's official tasting notes: Ripe honeydew melon, candied grapefruit, peach shnapps, cardamom, cocoa powder, and orange blossom with a distinct and stunning minerality throughout. Complex, fruit-driven and elegant.
Producer Profile
Scotland's most acclaimed bottler of rare single cask and limited edition single malt whisky, fusion whisky and spirits.
"We exist to identify the very small number of casks that have produced the ultimate whiskies and spirits. The criteria for selection include rarity and maturity, but above all flavour."
"Adelphi is like the Linn of hi-fi, the Aston Martin of motoring, the Gleneagles of hotels - basically, if you see anything with that name on a bottle, you know you're in for a serious treat."Andy Clark, The Herald, Scotland.
