Dry red wine, 75cl. Medium bodied 100% Blaufränkisch from Burgenland, Austria. 13.5% ABV. Vegan
"As recommended in the Hugh Johnson Pocket Book 2021"
Strong and expressive, not too heavy. The nose exude dark fruit with notes of ripe sour cherries, elderberries and blackberries along with scents of herbs and dark tobacco. The first impression on the palate shows freshness and concentration; dense, focused and complex wine. Good structure with soft tannins.
Producer Profile Kracher & Wieder
The cooperation between Kracher and the Neckenmarkt winery is a long-standing one. Gerhard ‘s father, Luis Kracher, served as a consultant from 2001 to 2004 to help turn the cooperative into a modern quality winery with a solid, convincing brand identity. Over the years, there was a continuous exchanging of ideas – until one main idea became concrete: Among the vineyards that are ultilised by the cooperative are some of the best sites of Neckenmarkt - on the Hochberg. So, how about vinifying the best of the best grapes separately and making a truly outstanding Blaufränkisch from them? The wine should be clearly recognisable by its aromas, flavours and style as a child of Mittelburgenland – yet can play in the league of top international red wines as well.
