normally my wines of choice are either Bordeaux, Barolo or port/madeira.....this wine is now my favourite! a friend of mine who lives out in Florida asked me to keep my eyes open for Navigator (she loves the wine too and I can see why), I wasn't sure we had it over here but I'm glad we did. another plus is the stunning bottle design
The product is excellent, but the domestic shipping fee is atrociously high. C'mon folks, I get several deliveries thru DHL but your costs are unrealistically high.
As an aficionado of eaux-de-vie (produced mainly in France, Switzerland and Austria) I have visited many distilleries - - - and Marcel Windholtz in Ribeauville is the best of all.
A sip of this Poire Williams (chilled) not only leads to an gustatory explosion on the palate but - most importantly - a smooth and harmonic finish in the gullet. The fruit is ethereal - not cloying as with some others.
Windholtz is the world champion of eaux-de-vie (distilled fruit).
Windholtz spirits are extremely hard to find in the UK, and if you do find them they are marked as "sold out".

A perfect summery wine balancing a zesty freshness with stone fruit and lovely notes of ripe apple.
An easy drinking alternative to good Beaujolais, less fruit forward but just as moorish.
