Ardnamurchan AD/09.22 Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky, Scotland, United Kingdom
Highland Single Malt Whisky, 70cl. Scotland, United Kingdom. 58.7% ABV.
Ardnamurchan's September release, the AD/09.22, which was distilled in 2016 is the second cask strength bottling of the distillery. It has a higher percentage of peated malt than previous releases. Aged in a combination of Bourbon and Sherry casks, alongside unpeated, Sherry-aged malt. A coastal, peaty dram with sweet and salty notes, but definitely on the smokier side.
Producer Profile Ardnamurchan Distillery
The distillery opened in July, 2014 and sits on the shores of Loch Sunart, in what has to be one of the most spectacular locations of any distillery in the country. It produces two signature styles of spirit, one peated and one unpeated. The spirits are matured in American and European oak, ex-sherry casks and American oak ex-Bourbon casks. Ardnamuchan Distillery's parent company, Adelphi Distillery, continues to source the rarest and finest single casks of exceptional malt whisky, under the "Adelphi Selection" brands.
