Dry red wine, 75cl. Full bodied 100% Nebbiolo from Piedmont, Italy. 14.0% ABV. Vegetarian
A clear ruby red colour. A flowery aroma that gradually opens with spicy scents. A full and long lasting taste denoting a considerable extract, with a good presence of tasty and sweet tannins. An important wine that will last in time and show its maximum potential on the way.
Tasting notes from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"Very different from the Cerequio Barolo, the 2012 Barolo Villero delivers its elegance with distinctive flair. The Villero cru is known for structured wines, but this expression offers unique silkiness and smoothness. The fruit flavors play long on the palate with lingering tones of cassis, dried cranberry, licorice and balsam herb. Indian spice, tar and ash are also part of the wine’s inner-workings."92/100 Points
Producer Profile Boroli
Founded by a Piedmontese family of entrepreneurs in the 1990s who decided to turn their passion into their livelihood, the Boroli estate is now run by 2nd generation, Achille Boroli. The ten hectares of vines are spread across the three areas of Castiglione Falletto, Barolo and La Morra. Boroli’s winemaking philosophy is that “a great wine is the result of a great vineyard and a great terroir.” Tremendous efforts are taken in the vineyards, including carefully controlling densities, organic fertilisation, turfing and green harvesting. All of the production takes place in Boroli’s new state of the art winery, Cascina La Brunella. The family also owns and operates a boutique hotel and a 1 star Michelin restaurant called La Locanda Del Pilone.
