Dry red wine, 75cl. Full bodied Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blend from Bordeaux, France. 13.0% ABV. Organic.
A great Cru Bourgeois from St-Estephe that is drinking beautifully now. Blackberry, blueberry and cedar on the nose, with well integrated tannins and a smooth finish. Classic Medoc claret.
Tasting notes from the judges of the Sommelier Wine Awards
'Very intense red fruits with a touch of grass and spices on the nose,' said Janusz Sasiadek of Bottles & Battles, adding: 'There's lovely acidity and good length.'
Producer Profile Château de Côme
With vines dating back to 1840, Château de Côme was established by the family of the same name in Saint-Estèphe. The estate was classified as a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur in 1886. In 1997, Château de Côme was acquired by Baron Maurice Velge, who quickly increased the area under vine from two to seven hectares of quality homogeneous terroir. Under the guidance of Baron Velge and winemaker Jose Bueno, previously of Château Mouton Rothschild, the estate has been releasing wine under its elegant new label since 2005.
