Dry red wine, 75cl. Full bodied 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, California, USA. 14.5% ABV.
Deep ruby with immediately compelling Californian Napa Cabernet Sauvignon aromas of sweet black currant and chapparal, with a rich seam of red fruit, almost sanguineous and ferrous. There is also a gorgeous oak component along with clove, nutmeg, and cedar. The palate is rich, full bodied, with a beautiful combination of both savory fresh herbs and ripe concentrated black fruit. The tannins are present, with Rutherford siltiness from the Rutherford bench. This is extremely youthful right now; it would benefit from ageing to temper its slightly brooding nature. But decanting for an hour before serving, and pairing with food, will deliver a lovely drinking experience now – just remember to buy at least two bottles so that you have one to put away.

Elizabeth Spencer Winery is the realization of a dream by husband-and-wife team Elizabeth Pressler and Spencer Graham, a couple who each enjoyed successful careers in the wine industry and share a love and respect for wine. With a “partners in life and partners in wine” philosophy their wines were built on the importance of strong relationships. In 2005, they acquired the 1872 brick Post Office building on the corner of Rutherford Road and Hwy 29 and restored the historic property which opened in May 2006 for tastings. In 2021, Elizabeth Spencer Winery joined Boisset Collection where it will continue its legacy. Under the leadership of Jean-Charles Boisset, Elizabeth Spencer Winery will continue to build upon and cultivate its strong relationships.
