This Porfidio is a single-agave, single-origin, single-terroir, single-vintage, single-varietal, single-barrel, first-growth agave craft spirit that is made from cold-pressed, raw agave juice, instead of cooked agave, the normal method for tequila. The Porfidio Original is then aged in virgin-oak-barrels until burgeoning to its sublime maturity status of an Anejo-Extra. From seedling to bottle, it took 15 years to make this bottle. The 2007 vintage ranks as one of the finest Porfidio bottlings. Despite not being classified as a Tequila, ‘The Original by Porfidio’ is considered the ultimate expression in the art of “tequila making.”
